Paradise Lost Owners Accuse CS Murkomen in Kiambu Land Claim

Paradise Lost owners in Kiambu have accused senior government officials, including Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, of being linked to an alleged attempt to take over their ancestral land amid an ongoing 248-acre ownership dispute.

During a press briefing alongside lawyers Danstan Omari and Duncan Okatch together with Isaack Gichia Mbugua one of the original owner's son alleged that Lands Principal Secretary Nixon Korir, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Gatundu South MP Elijah Kururia, and CS Murkomen are linked to efforts to take over the land.

He further claimed Murkomen has been protecting individuals allegedly involved in the occupation.

The family says it has reported the matter to authorities and is seeking urgent intervention, terming the situation an unlawful attempt to dispossess them of their property.

In a related development, Ndunde Investments has moved to the Kiambu Environment and Land Court seeking orders to stop what it calls a fraudulent takeover of the same land.

The company says it acquired the property in 2000 and has remained in possession, later obtaining approvals for land use change and amalgamation.

However, it alleges that ownership records were irregularly altered, leading to disputed titles and transfer of the land to Pamat Enterprises Limited, which it says later subdivided the property into 281 plots. It also claims armed individuals invaded the land in April 2026.

Separately, a 248-acre land case is before the High Court in Kiambu under Petition No. E029 of 2026.

Daniel Mwangi Mbugua and Wanjiru Mwangi are seeking court protection over what they describe as a violent occupation of their land, alleging that about 20 armed men entered the property on April 11, 2026 and began fencing it off.

They also raise concern over alleged interference with a riparian dam system, warning of possible flooding risks to nearby communities.

The petition names CS Kipchumba Murkomen, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, and Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia, alleging failure by police to act and claims of protection for the alleged invaders.

The court directed service of all parties by April 24, 2026, with responses due by May 8, 2026, rejoinders by May 15, 2026, and mention set for May 19, 2026.
